Tinylawn's AI receptionist includes built-in spam protection to keep unwanted calls from cluttering your dashboard and using up your call allowance. Spam calls are automatically detected and are not counted toward your monthly usage.
How to configure spam settings
1. Go to Settings > Receptionist > Spam Protection.
2. Toggle the options described below.
3. Changes apply immediately to all future calls.
Spam protection options
Block toll-free numbers
Enabled by default. When turned on, calls from toll-free numbers (800, 888, 877, etc.) are automatically blocked. Most legitimate customers call from local or mobile numbers, so this filters out a large percentage of robocalls and telemarketing.
Turn this off only if you regularly receive legitimate calls from toll-free numbers.
Block sales calls
Enabled by default. The AI listens for sales pitches and telemarketing patterns during the conversation. If it determines the caller is trying to sell you something, the call is flagged as spam.
Blocked numbers list
Below the toggle settings, you'll see a list of all numbers that have been blocked. For each entry, you can see:
- Phone number — The blocked caller's number.
- Reason — Why the number was blocked (e.g., "Toll-free number," "Sales call detected").
- Date blocked — When the block was applied.
Unblocking a number
If a legitimate caller was blocked by mistake, click the Unblock button next to their number. Future calls from that number will be accepted normally.
Tips
- Check your blocked list periodically to make sure no real customers were caught by the filters.
- Spam calls that slip through are still tagged as "Spam" in your call list — they won't generate leads or count toward your usage.
- If you notice a specific number calling repeatedly, it will be blocked automatically after being flagged as spam.
