Services are the foundation of what your AI receptionist tells callers about your business. When a customer asks "What do you offer?" or "How much does a lawn mowing cost?", the receptionist reads from your active services list.
Default services
During onboarding, Tinylawn pre-loads three services based on your industry with realistic names, descriptions, and pricing. You can edit these or add your own at any time.
Viewing your services
Go to Services to see all your services in a list. Each service shows its name, price, and active status.
Adding a new service
1. Go to Services.
2. Click Add Service.
3. Fill in the details:
Field | Description |
Name | The service title (e.g., "Weekly Lawn Mowing") |
Description | A brief explanation of what's included |
Price | The dollar amount |
Show price | Toggle whether the price is shared with customers |
Starting price | Toggle to display as "starting at $X" instead of a fixed price — useful for services where the final price depends on the property |
Active | Only active services are visible to the AI receptionist and customers |
4. Save the service.
Editing a service
Click on any service to open it for editing. Update any of the fields and save your changes. Updates take effect on the next incoming call.
Deactivating vs. deleting
- Deactivate a service by toggling it off. It stays in your list but the AI won't mention it to callers and it won't appear on forms. Useful for seasonal services you'll bring back later.
- Delete a service to remove it permanently.
How services are used
Your services appear in several places:
- Phone calls — The AI receptionist reads service names, descriptions, and pricing to callers who ask.
- Online forms — Customers may see your services when submitting a booking request.
- Scheduling — Services are linked to appointments so you know what the customer is requesting.
Tips
- Use the "Starting at" toggle for services where pricing varies by property size (e.g., "Starting at $45" for lawn mowing).
- Turn off Show price for services where you prefer to quote after seeing the property.
- Keep descriptions concise — the AI reads them aloud during calls, so shorter is better.
- Review and update your services seasonally. Add snow removal in the fall, spring cleanups in March, etc.
