FAQs teach your AI receptionist how to answer the questions your customers ask most often. When a caller asks something that matches one of your FAQs, the receptionist uses your answer — keeping responses accurate and consistent.
How to add FAQs
1. Go to Settings > Receptionist > FAQ.
2. Click Add FAQ.
3. Enter the Question — write it the way a customer would actually ask it.
4. Enter the Answer — write the response you want the AI to give.
5. Save your changes.
You can add up to 20 FAQ pairs.
Writing effective FAQs
Use natural language for questions
Write questions the way real customers would phrase them on a phone call, not the way they'd appear on a website.
Less effective | More effective |
Service area coverage | Do you service my area? |
Payment terms and conditions | What forms of payment do you accept? |
Cancellation policy overview | What happens if I need to cancel? |
Keep answers conversational
Since the AI reads these answers aloud on a phone call, write them the way you'd speak to a customer — clear, friendly, and to the point.
Example:
- Question: "Do you offer free estimates?"
- Answer: "Yes, we offer free on-site estimates for all of our services. We can usually get out to you within a couple of days. Would you like to schedule one?"
Cover your most common topics
Think about the questions your team answers over and over:
- Service area and travel radius
- Payment methods accepted
- Cancellation or rescheduling policies
- What's included in a specific service
- Whether you're licensed and insured
- How long a typical job takes
- Whether you provide your own equipment and materials
Editing and removing FAQs
- To edit an FAQ, click on it in the list, update the question or answer, and save.
- To remove an FAQ, click the delete button next to it.
Tips
- Start with 5–10 FAQs covering your most common questions, then add more over time.
- Review your Calls page for "General Question" calls to spot questions the AI couldn't answer well — then add them as FAQs.
- Update FAQs seasonally if your services or policies change (e.g., snow removal availability in winter).
