Setting Up Your Greeting

Choose a default or custom greeting for your AI receptionist. Includes examples and best practices for writing a great phone greeting.

The greeting is the first thing callers hear when they reach your AI receptionist. A good greeting sets the tone, builds trust, and lets the caller know they've reached the right place.

How to update your greeting

1. Go to Settings > Receptionist > Greeting.

2. Choose either Default or Custom.

3. If you choose Custom, type your greeting in the text field.

4. Save your changes — they take effect on the next incoming call.

Default greeting

If you stick with the default, your receptionist will say:

"Hello, thank you for calling [Your Business Name]. This is [Agent Name]. How can I help you today?"

The business name and agent name are pulled automatically from your account settings.

Custom greeting

Write your own greeting to match your brand voice. Here are a few examples:

Friendly and casual:

"Hey there! Thanks for calling Greenfield Lawn Care. I'm Sarah, your virtual assistant. What can I help you with today?"

Professional and direct:

"Thank you for calling Premier Landscaping. How may I assist you?"

Seasonal or promotional:

"Thanks for calling Tinylawn Lawn Care! We're currently booking spring cleanups — would you like to schedule one, or is there something else I can help with?"

Best practices

- Keep it short. Callers want to get to their question quickly. Aim for 1–2 sentences.

- Include your business name. This confirms the caller reached the right place.

- End with an open question. Phrases like "How can I help you?" invite the caller to share their needs.

- Avoid jargon. Use simple, everyday language.

- Read it aloud. If it sounds awkward when spoken, rewrite it.
