Setting Up Your Account

Learn how to create your Tinylawn account, choose a local phone number, and get your AI receptionist ready to take calls in minutes.

Overview

Getting started with Tinylawn takes just a few minutes. This guide walks you through the onboarding process from sign-up to your first call.

Step 1: Create your account

Sign up at Tinylawn and you'll be prompted to enter two things:

- Business name — The name your AI receptionist will use when greeting callers.

- Industry — Select the category that best describes your business (e.g., Landscape Maintenance, Tree Care, Pest Control). This determines the default services and pricing that are pre-loaded into your account.

Step 2: Choose your phone number

Next, you'll pick a local phone number for your AI receptionist:

1. Enter a 3-digit area code (e.g., 312 for Chicago).

2. Browse the available numbers in that area.

3. Select the one you want — you'll see the full number, city, and state for each option.

This is the number customers will call to reach your AI receptionist. It's yours for as long as your account is active.

What happens behind the scenes

Once you confirm your phone number, Tinylawn automatically sets up your account:

- Phone line activated — Your number is provisioned and ready to take calls.

- Free trial started — You get free calls to try everything out, no credit card required.

- Services pre-loaded — Three services with realistic pricing are added based on your industry. You can edit these anytime.

- Business hours set — Defaults to Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM in your local timezone. Adjust these under Settings.

- Default booking form created — A "Quote Request" form is ready to share with customers.

- Welcome email sent — Check your inbox for a confirmation and quick-start tips.

Step 3: Land on Getting Started

After onboarding, you'll arrive at the Getting Started page. Here you'll see:

- Your new phone number displayed prominently

- A Make a Test Call button to try the AI receptionist right away

- A Copy Number button to share it quickly

- A rundown of what your AI receptionist can do

Once your account is active, we recommend:
